How do you know how many lights your room will need??? I am getting married at a non-typical RH so its not like I can ask someone who has gotten married there how many lights they would need.... how do you find this out???
(is this a stupid question )

I think the company doing your lighting will need to recommend the # of lights.
They are usually familiar with the various reception halls. My room is very large and I told them it was the Grand Ballroom at Crest hollow and they suggested 30. I knew I needed alot so I just went with what they told me.

that is what I am wondering because all of my vendors have never heard of my RH....it is not one of the big name ones and it is out east and just not a typical place...maybe they can call and get the dimensions and go from there.

They should probably call the RH, they might even need to go over in person and check the place out. But they should do this BEFORE you sign any contact for the service.

The question is not stupid at all. I would ask the company to come with you to look at the place. That way they can tell you what they think

I'd ask whomever you're doing lighting with to come take a look at it.

My RH catering manager made suggestions and then I went over them with my DJ. I had a layout of the room and he had been there already. Otherwise I would have recommended that he visit. However, I think with the layout, he could have estimated what he would have needed.

I am using world of illumination a vendor on here. Check with your DJ first and see if they do lighting because it will be cheaper with them. My DJ does not which is why I had to go this route.
