I've tried on several but due to trying to keep to my budget and being petite and not wanting to be overwhelmed in fabric, I am having a hard time! I found a dress I liked but I think its because it makes me look thin. Help! I need my mom but she's in NY!

When you find the right dress, you'll know! Have you been to Commack wedding center? They have a huge selection of very reasonably priced dresses.

Believe me you know. I went shopping yesterday for the fist time. I loved the first dress I tried on, then tried many others and went right back to the first one. I BOUGHT IT!!! I guess I knew

You'll know that it's the ' one ' when you are in front of the mirror and you notice that you can't stop smiling and you don't want to take off the dress!

you just know. when i went dress shopping the first one i tried on gave me that feeling. i went to look and try on a few more but i couldnt stop thinking of the first one. so i went back and bought it.

Same thing happened with me. I had tried the first one on and loved it but since I didn't have anything to compare it to, I kept looking. After about 20 dresses and thinking another one was 'The One' I just couldn't stop thinking about the first one. So, I went back to try it on and did not want to take it off. The search was over, it was ordered that same day.

my story is a little different...
I tried on 1 gown and thought for sure it was the one but to please mom, I went looking at another store and it was there that I found THE one. Once I tried on the latter style, I went from loving the first to hating it when I went back to try it on...

Oh God !! Do NOT go shopping w/ the thought in your head that you 'will just know' b/c you may not. - That's a romanticist's view of the whole situation !! It's like picking anything out, - you like the way you look, or you don't, and eventually you'll find something that when you look @ yourself in the mirror you'll say 'THIS is the dress........' Not b/c you were brought to it by some fate, b/c you tried it on looked at yourself and LOVED the way you looked. - But then again, i'm not very romantic and cheesy about things, - I picked my gown by trying on a whole lot of them, and picked the one that made me feel like a 'bride' - For some reason I felt like i was playing dress up in all of these beautiful gowns and veils - but i didn't feel comfortable, - I felt like 'me' in my gown, and it was the only one I could actually picture myself wearing on that day .........Don't worry ! You will find something perfect for you !!

Well, how did you know FH was 'the one'. Seems silly to ask, but not really if you think about it. For me, I just KNEW, I had that feeling from the beginning with JT, and I found that I was the same dress shopping. For other girls, I know they took a lot of getting to know their FH's to know they were 'the one', and so looking for a dress was more pondering and contemplating than just a feeling. It boils down to what kind of personality YOU have. If you are a ponderer, then you will have to do the same for the dress. If you just get 'a feeling' or just make decisions on the spot, you will probably just know when it's the one.

Good advice- thanks all of you! I guess I better start shopping and hope it happens as quickly as it did with my FH- 2 months!

Yes you will def know I tried on my dress 3 time in three different store and everytime I tried it on I cried. It was also the first dress that I tried on. I saw it in a magazine and knew that it was the one.
