How do you know when it's THEE dress?

How do you know it's THE dress?

It's happened to me 3 times and i keep finding another that looks & feels better than the last!

If you keep looking and finding dresses that you like better, than all the previous dresses were not
'the one'

I knew it was THEE dress, when I tried it on and didn't want to take it off. Then I kept looking to compare my options, and at every place I went I asked if they had that dress and just kept trying it on - nothing else made me feel as good in it as that one!

Believe me, when you find it, you'll know it!

ok, that happened to me. i tried on this one dress, a halter top and loved it. then went to see others to make sure i wasn't missing out on something i might like more (the color was stark white and hard to imagine in ivory) and i found a completely different dress all lace. i decided that was it, but was nervous that i may have made the decision too hastily cuz i was so tired.
so i went BACK to the dress shop, tried on a completely different dress (Ball gown) and loved it. drove away thinking, wait, that dress it so not me! it's too poofy & noisy.

so i went to david's bridal yesterday, found a similar one to the lace, tried it on and was like, yes! this is me! it was $400 less, a size too small so it hugged me more in places that, with enough hard work won't hug in 6 months.

so i left there thinking, i found it! but because i have been so indecisive , i decided to keep it on hold until tonight - to give me more time to think about it.

now i want to go back to the very first dress i said wow to & see if it happpens again?

i had my wow moment when i found the pic of my dress in a magazine 3 years ago! when i finally tried it on i cried like a baby! my friends make fun of me cause i am very emotional! my heart dropped into my stomach. it was a great feeling

I went shopping only once, at David's. I tried on like 15 dresses, and I kept trying on two of them. One was more graceful and elegant, and the other had the wow factor. The elegant one felt more like ME, more like what I always thought I'd get, and then the other one was ... beautiful, amazing, gorgeous. My mom and sister were with me, and I couldn't decide .. and my mom said, 'That one is elegant, but the one you have on is breathtaking.' To me, that did it. I want to be breathtaking on my wedding day. When she broke it down between the two --- it was easy!

i went to macys and tried on like 10 dresses and i spotted it on a girl when i walked in...so they got it and it was like the 11th dress i put on...the sample fit like a glove...it was just perfect for me...

it was the style i like...simple yet elegant...and i felt lovely in it...and i got teary and told my mom..this is it...they put the matchin veil on me...and i was blown away.

not sure if everyone gets like that but i got like that.

i knew for sure.

edited: 1 day...11 dresses and it was the 1...

you definately just know when its THE dress!! It was the 3rd one I tried on and not sure how but I just knew!! that was it!!! stopped looking at that point!!

for me it was the opposite. i didn't cry or get emotional. I didn't want to take it off and I kept coming up w/ questions to ask so I could keep it on longer! I felt a weight lifted off my chest and when I went home I thought about the dress the whole evening. The next day I told my mom that we need to get that dress. She told me she knew it was my dress the second I put it on b/c I seemed so comfortable in it.

I seen my dress in a magazine and after that nothing could compair at all, ever......still cant in my mind, thats how you know. I found a shop who would let me order it, if I didnt like it they would let me apply that full amount of money to another dress. It came in and Wow, I tried it on and fell in love for sure....never went looking and only tried on one other gown just to say I did try on another one.......

I asked my friend that just got married the SAME question and she said 'You'll know'.
So with that I went to Davids Bridal and tried on three dresses and wanted them off right away! I felt like a fake, like I was pretending to be something Im not, meanwhile my sister told me she thought I looked beautiful and said she was going to cry...it's hard for me to be able to find 'the one' when Im a jeans, t-shirt and converse kind of girl.

So when you feel that 'the one' feeling, you let me know, so I'll know.

I never knew when it was THE dress. But I didn't want to keep finding more than I already had and driving my self crazy. I picked a dress that I loved and loved how it looked on me.

hah!

i feel the same way. i mean , i like these dresses but which one is the one i'm supposed to wear?

i went back to the dress shop i first went to today on my lunch break.

tried on the 1st 2 dresses i tried on last week.
now the other two dresses pale in comparison.
not quite sure how that happened. there should be a manual.

so i took pics which i'll post as soon as i get home. i love them both!

i am bringing a friend to the dress shop tomorrow night so she can give me her take.

here are the dresses on models though:
the first one i love, but am worried that it makes me look bigger. and i'm limited to an updo i think.

the 2nd i love too - and i can wear my hair down.

I was the exact same way. I never got that 'the one' feeling. I narrowed it down to 2 and went back and forth. I didn't cry or anything either but I'm not like that in general. I forced myself to cry when I got engaged b/c I thought you were supposed to cry (like an idiot). My FH was like what the?

Anyway, point being, if that's the personality you are, don't wait for the 'the one' feeling. Go with what you look best in and are most comfortable in. I know everyone says you'll find 'the one' and you will 'just know' but I tried on well over 100 dresses and never had that happen. Either way, those dresses are beautiful and you can't go wrong with either.

When I ordered the other one (lol). Two weeks later I cried to my mom 'I should have ordered the other one' so we called and were really nice and they worked out a way to change it.

I guess this doesn't help you, but I didn't go with my gut.

thank goodness. I'm the exact same way. I've narrowed it down to two, love the both of them but never had that GASP! feeling - that's just not me, so i'm going back with my sisters to try both on and get their opinions.

I didn't cry when I got engaged either! Couldn't even force myself to.
