2 - my mother and my grandmother both threatened to beat me if I continued saying it the other way. They didn't care that I live in Brooklyn and sound like a tourist!

Re: How do you pronounce chocalate?
I say Chalk-let and FH says Cholk-let (he is from LI!) He also says pizzer, idear, dilemmer and calls his sister Trisher. He swears up and down that he doesn't, but he does! It's a true LI accent!

Re: How do you pronounce chocalate?
Now, we have to define the pronunciation of 'chalk'. To a NY'er it's 'chawk' so we say 'chawk-lit' (or at least I do!)
Down south here they say 'chock'. Yuuuuucccckkk!!!
Man I am bored here at work

Re: How do you pronounce chocalate?
yeah, i don't see the difference between chock and chalk. I say them the same way. I hardly have a NY accent... some people say i have a bit of a country accent when i say certain things. I guess cuz i grew up with a very proper english speaking father and a mom from Pittsburgh.
AHHHHH i hate it when people add 'R's to the end of words like that (vodker).
