IMHO, you don't. I know that what I'm picking may not necessarily be my friends' style, but I would hope that they would wear it to make me happy. I know that I would do the same for them.

Well offer some other suggestions, tell her nicely why you dont like the dress and offer to help her find a better one.....if she still is determined to keep the dress...well she is the Bride!

I agree. One woman's 80s chorus girl dress is another's OMG...must have BM dress of the century.

I don't think you can say you dislike the dress... I guess you can give some constructive criticism but never say you don't like it. Just deal with it...its 1 day of wearing the dress.. as long as the bride is happy that is all that should matter.

I wouldn't say anything -I am in my friends wedding and the dress she picked for us is just plain ugly -but as a friend I wear what she likes.. (BTW: she looooovvvvess the dress) so can't kill her spirit

You don't say a thing. Wear it and support the bride. We all have our own weddings to pick the dresses for, IMO as a bridesmaid adding more stress to the bride is BIG NO NO.

i agree... i'm sorry that the dress is so bad that really stinks but there is not much you can do. at least it's only one day and then you don't have to wear it again

isn't the traditional purpose of a bridesmaid to 'scare away the evil spirits?'. Maybe she's just REALLY trying to live up to that!!!

OR maybe she's just REALLY making sure she's the best looking one there! Who knows???

I know for my girls, I went with my MOH and we picked the dress together and I made sure it was a dress that looked good for all my girls' body types. ***** that not all girls think that way, but what are ya gonna do? It's her day and she gets to pick it!

Did you ask her what the other girls thought about the dress? Maybe that's a nice way of subtely hinting you don't like it and opening the door for her to say, 'Why? You don't like it??'. If she doesn't ask, she obviously doesn't give a hoot!
