How do you seal your outer envelopes?

How do you seal your outer envelopes?

Do you have a wedding seal/sticker or do you just lick all the envelopes?

We have a website (i.e., www.janeandjohn.com) that has all our gift registry information. I was thinking of getting tiny stickers printed that say our website address and using those as the envelope seal on the back. How does that sound?

I found some elegant looking sticker templates and the size is pretty small so it wouldn't take away from the front of the envelope, which has a small design on it similar to the one on the invitation itself.

I want people to know about our website address because of the gift registry.

And I know tradition is that your bridal party tells everyone where you're registered, but this is a traditional indian wedding with no bridal party.

how did people find out about your registry? Word of mouth or through your bridal party?

is this for your wedding or shower? for wedding I don't think registries are mentioned at all, usually almost everything is bought up at the shower anyway..

I sealed with a glue stick.. wouldn't dare lick that many envelopes after that Seinfeld episode where Susan died from the toxic glue..

These are for my wedding invitations. We are inviting 250 people for the wedding but only 20 women are attending the shower.

How do I get the word out to all those other people about my registry? I am definitely not putting anything in the wedding invitation itself. But I think if people knew about our website, they would log on and see info about the registry. So basically I want to include our website address but not sure how to do it. So I was thinking maybe using the website address as the seal on the envelope (in the form of a sticker).

Debi made website cards, and put them in with her STD's, along with hotel cards. I put Registry Cards in with her shower invitations. Mary MOB

A little card was sent in my shower invitation that said where we were registered-we didnt send out that info in our wedding invitations

I would just try and do it word of mouth if you arent sending STDs, if you send STDs put the info for your website in there AND info about your registries too---most of our guests never looked at the website

i would NOT put a sticker on your outer envelopes with website information. there are some CRAZY people in the world, and people can get too much personal information from a wedding website / wedding registry.

glue sticks work best.

Anyone savvy enough to look at your wedding website should also be savvy enough to have and use an email account. So, why not just email your guests your wedding website information?

Re: How do you seal your outer envelopes?

Good advice about not putting my website address on something postal workers and other people can see! The website does have our contact info on it so we don't want crazy phone calls from crazy people!

We sent save the date magnets out 4 months ago with our website address on it. I had forgotten about that! So I guess most guests already have the info, but I doubt they'll remember. Oh well! I guess my mom will just get 250 phone calls asking about the registry!

jtgarsik - I am having a bridal shower with about 20 women but 250 people are invited to the wedding.

I think I will stick to regular silver or gold foils for my seals in fear that someone crazy will log onto my wedding site after seeing the address! :)

That episode has played on in many a brides minds!!!

Glue stick is the best way to go, or moisten a sponge and swipe that over the adhesive.

Regarding the registry information, it's considered a faux pas to include it with your wedding invite - some people look at it like you are telling them to get you a gift. Best bet is to use word of mouth or send out a note with your shower invites.
