How do you stop a dog from digging?

Daisy is about halfway to China right now...

Everytime I fill in a hole she digs another one right up?!?!? Has anyone had this problem with their dog?

Mine too. He has done it forever -- its their natural instinct so its hard to stop.

We finally got him to stop digging in certain areas just by staying on top of him and yelling at him when he started. Now there are certain areas he knows he can and he does and then we fill it back in again.

ETA: Don't let her take bones outside. We found that helped a lot -- because he was buryign them and then digging them god knows how long after.

If he brings one out he has to stay on the deck with it and he knows it.

Brutus outgrew it - thank goodness!

we tried to just yell at him the moment he did it and not let him outside alone but i think even after all of that he just got over it on his own

I'm hoping she outgrows it also because I have to clean her paws and legs almost every time she goes outside...especially when the ground is wet (grosssss)!

Brutus still 'digs' inside though he will go crazy on the couch and in his bed

he also hides all of his treats under pillows and blankets - its pretty cute!

Cooper does this too... it's so wierd!

As for the digging outside... he's too busy running around like a chicken with it's head cut off to dig. Hopefully she'll grow out of it!
