how are you doing the couples that aren't married? or have different last names? one place card or two?

Couples not married:

Miss (Ms) Jane Doe & Mr. John Doe

I'm wondering about that also. Is it ok to write Mr. soandso and guest on 1 placecard or should you put each one on an individual placecard?

Couples that aren't married, we would write out:
Mary Doe & John
I guess. What is everyone else doing?

I am going to put Mr. soandso and his guest on ONE placecard... Just make sure Mr. soandso gives you the name of his guest Both names of the people in each party should be on 1 card
