kill his wife???

I am stunned by these recent news headlines about men killing their (pregnant) wives...What goes wrong???

Laci and Scott were together for a long time...So were Lori and Mark (is that his name?)

I can't get over this!!

Yesterday I just read a recent case where a wife in Vermont was convicted of killing her husband...I just had this conversation with my DH and friends...how does it get that bad? Why can't they just walk away?
