I know this is a stupid question, but the few weddings I went to when I lived in NY didn't have a V hour. How does it work? Does it work well? We are considering having something like that for our wedding, but I need to explain to FH how it works and that it does in fact work. Thanks!
Update: Thanks ladies.
Out here they do what they call a Mini Dessert Buffet (this is done through the cake bakery not the RH). The mini desserts we have chosen are:
NY Cheesecake Tiramisu Chocolate Torts Almods Tosca Canolis
How they do it is they set up the buffet around the cake. The cake is cut and served by the servers.
My Fh's issue is that he thinks that if the cake is being served, then no one will get up to get the other desserts. He thinks that we should have platters of them made for each table and have a platter put out at dessert time when the cake is being served.
I'm just not sure what will work better?

Re: How does a VH work?
its just an extra hour added to your wedding, at an extra cost. an hour of all sorts of desserts for ur guests to enjoy!

Re: How does a VH work?
That's my question...is it a buffet? Does it create long lines or do people just come up and graze?

some venues do it different ways but most of the time these huge displays are rolled out with all kinda of desserts and dessert drinks for the last hour of the wedding. It's pretty much like a buffet. People can go up and get what they want - some items they have people to help serve it.

most places dont add an extra hour on, they just dedicate an hour from your reception to put the desserts out.

Many places are different....some do desserts like buffet, some have stations...
I am getting VH...we have pastries out like buffet and different stations like make ur own sundae, candy apples, cotton candy, etc. I think its def worth it :)

Re: How does a VH work?
2 types. Both bring deserts out on numerous tables and place them on the dance floor or have them in another room for you. It's either a) the last hour of a reg. 5 hour party or b) an additional hour added on.
