How does everyone feel about..............

their FIL's.....Do you all get along or have there been issues, especially since you got engaged??

We seem to be fine. Nothing has changed since we got engaged. All our parents are really happy for us

I actually got very lucky & love my fil's. We get along great!! We have had an occasional run in, but 98% of the time i couldnt ask for more.

i too have no issues with my FIL's. They're really great! I guess I'm lucky compared to some of the horror stories i've heard

I am very lucky when it comes to FIL's. I have known FH's immediate family since I was 7 years old. So, I truely feel like a member of the family.

welll my fh's mom passed away so i never got to meet her. his dad is very quiet and just goes with the flow, hes very nice...

You know, I've been with FH for over 10 years, his dad passed in 2006..he was older and had been sick....we got engaged in 07, but he knew it was coming and he was so happy for us. My parents have done so incredibly much for us and are so excited for the wedding since I'm an only child, but, with the fil's, I feel like the reaction is forced, and they've had nothing to do with anything...his sisters are BM's, his brother is the Best Man and his brother's in law are groomsmen, but I dunno if they're doing it out of obligation or because they're happy for us, FH says they are, but there's too much going on behind the scenes for me to think so......so many issues, too many to go into on here.....but, it's strange, things aren't outwardly bad, but I feel like there's something lurking.....

My FIL's are great, I can't NOT love them bc they offered to pay for our whole reception!

Get along fine with FIL. They live out of state so we don't have too much interaction with them. See each other a few times a year.

I really like my FIL but FMIL is a little controlling usually it does not bother me but with a few wedding things it has rubbed me the wrong way.

I adore them, but Fmil has massive panic attacks and goes insane and asks a million questions. We even liedto her and told her we can only invite 80 people because she started naming name after name!!!

I was always close with his parents, but the bond grew a WHOLE lot more, which I didn't think was possible. I also became almost best freinds with his sister, so it's great. His Dad is always telling me embarrasing stories of his past! HAHA Love it!

Well, my parents love FH and he loves them. His dad is divorced and he and his wife LOVE me and I really like them too, They are just like my parents. So all is good on that end.

His mother on the hand is a little moody and keeps telling me that she is losing her son. So one day I got tired of hearing it and told her that she wasnt losing him but that she was gaining a daughter. She told me that she already has a daughter and she doesnt see it that way. And then she was like im losing my son! lol what do you say to that? lol

fl mom passed away while we were dating so i really never knew her ...i've had some issues with his dad but things have really calmed down with him so we're getting along better than ever !

My FIL's live in Israel so I don't know them too well. But they seem pretty laid back, like my parents. They were really happy when we got engaged and his father is telling everyone who is willing to listen. Its kind of cute.
