For my reception site you need to use 1 of 2 florists-which totally ***** since they are Stefans and Spitz and Peck which I hear are expensive. I would like to get a quote from these 2 places and then from another place that my cousin knows the owner of--to try to see the difference. But, I dont know how many centerpieces I would need or the type of flowers I even want. How do I go about getting these quotes and how far in advance should I do it for a November wedding? Thanks!

Re: How does it work when you get a florist quote??
Calculate the number of guests you anticipate, divide that number by 10, and viola - the number of CP's you need.
I booked my florist in December for my October wedding, but then again, everything of major import for my October wedding was booked no later than December 28 (video was the last thing I did, on that day).

Does it matter if you dont know what type of flowers you want? Can you still get a quote?

I got ballpark quotes, but they all told me if I gave them a budget they would suggest flowers that would fit in it and go with the theme. If you are dead set on an expensive flower it will drive up the costs.
