OFF the hinges!!! easier and you dont want to risk painting the doorframe....Or the actual hinges for that matter...

I am lazy so i would do it on the hinges...especially if it's my front or side door because they are heavy...haha

I would do on the hinge just dont paint over the hinges. Its to much of a pain taking the whole door off. Im in the middle of painting my aparmtnet and there is no way im takin off 6 doors

You can do it either way, but you're really supposed to take them off of the hinges

You are supposed to take them off the hinges. But if you do leave them on be sure to let them dry COMPLETELY before closing the door or it will get painted shut. Then when you force it open the paint will rip off the door and you will have to redo it .

Because we just bought a hhouse that looks great from the outside but looks like SHHIIIOT on the inside.. the doors are all wooden, some old, some new, none match! So we're painting them all white to give the house a fresh NEW feel

off the hinges....just don't REMOVE the hinges, becuase that might really mess up the alignment of the door.
