Althought I think that amount is excessive, she did think that he was going to find her child a loving home, not beat her to death

YEah but why should she cash in the cash cow. Thats BS. She should have kept her and Steinberg should have gotten the chair

She'll never see that money the man is in jail. and when he gets out who's going to hire a child killer?

Joel Steinberg doesn't actually have 15 million to pay her....does he? Even with his new show...................would they really pay him that much?

I thought you cannot make a profit off of your crime once convicted

I agree with Stacey. I dont know the details of the agreement between the mother & Steinberg but she had expectations of her child being put in the hands of someone who will give her a good life, not abuse and murder her. We dont know how or why she decided to give the baby up for adoption but I dont view her giving her daughter up for adoption as a negative. Adoption is a very beautiful thing, it's not like she dumped her out in the cold or put the newborn in a toilet tank at the prom.

The article says she will undoubtedly never see money anywhere near those proportions. How are they going to get $15 mn out of Steinberg?

I think having a lien like this put on his credit will prevent him from ever owning ANYTHING!

Didn't the natural mother of the little boy also sue him after he killed Lisa?

She obviously had reasons for putting her up for adoption. Everyone's life is not that easy to just say 'well she should have kept her'. Who know's what her situation was.....
I can not imagine how hard it must be to give up a child, but hopefully she was doing to it in the efforts to try and give this child a better life than she could have given her.....

She trusted that when she gave her child up for adoption, she would go to a good home...not be killed by a monster!

That being said, I think 15 million is excessive and no amount of money in the world will bring back her daughter!

Im not saying that adoption is wrong but why sue for $$.

I DESPISE THIS MAN WITH EVERY BONE IN MY BODY!!!!! I HOPE HE NEVER GETS OUT!!!!

I think adoption is a great thing! And it kills me that some children end up w/ a worse life then if they stayed w/ their teenage Mothers.

But what I don't understand the suing either. He wasn't an employee of an adoption agency. So why would you give him your child??

She was 19 when she was pregnant and he was a lawyer. She thought it was the right thing.

this case always makes me want to cry

I really do feel bad for the birth mothers in these situations because they put their children up for adoption so that their children have a chance at a better life than what they can offer them and then some animal kills them. It breaks my heart. But I don't think she deserves to profit from her daughter's death.
