My dad is worthless, let's put that right upfront. I asked my grandfather to walk me down the aisle,he graciously agreed. However for the father daughter dance I want to do something diff. I was mostly raised by my grandmother who passed away like 2 years ago. I want to dance with my grandfather and dedicate it to my grandmother by playing Josh Grobans ( You Raise Me Up). What do you ladies think?

I think it is a great idea and you are honoring and remembering those that are meaningful to you on your special day. It is a lovely idea and I think your Grandfather will be very honored and touched as all of your guests. Ask your MC to explain the meaning of it to your guests and you will have plenty of your guests touched.

Thank you ladies, very much. Just when everything should be smooth sailing, my mom is acting up( she said that she is not coming to the wedding) everyone thinks that that is a crock of crap. but who knows. It is times like these that I REALLY miss her. She would be the one running all over with me and making sure that everything I needed was taken care of

That sucks!! Like u need more stress right now anyway. I think the dance is a great idea. keep your chin up.

I listened to the whole song and I think that it is a little long for shy me to dance alone. So I thought that before the second verse started I would ask the DJ to invite my uncles (3) and their wives , (Hopefully my mom and her boyfriend) to dance with my grandfather and myself. My grandmother always provided a shoulder for them ( the wives and sometimes the sons) to lean on whenever they had a problem and even when 2 of my aunts moms died she stepped up and helped them. Now how does THAT sound. I think by the end of the song everyone will need to do over their makeup.
