How early did you book your dj? We haven't started to look yet and really don't know where to begin. You think we are behind schedule?
we booked ours a couple a months after we got engaged.. dj's book up fast
We booked ours in May but was the first vendor we booked (besides the hall)... You still have plenty of time but no harm in getting it done early.
we booked our dj in august 05 for 06. she said they had 3 events booked for that day and they only do 6. don't know how true that is of course, but i know the good ones go quickly
we got engaged on august 22, and booked our dj sept 25 for our oct 21 2006 wedding...i thought i was booking early but apparently these things go quickly...the dj we booked was already booked 4 other days in oct 06..and 4 photographers ive looked at are already booked for my date too!
one of the first vendors we booked (prob about a month after we were engaged, over a year before the wedding) - but, we booked early only because we knew exactly who we wanted right away.
as soon as u look for vendors look for djs you would be surprised how fast they get booked
we booked ours this past week...they do book up quick.....we started by looking at the ones our hall recommended....then i did a post on vendors helping brides section for dj pricing...then i did a search for different djs on this website and ultimately i think we found a great dj! good luck!!

We booked ours a few months after our engagement. They came in second to booking our photographer, which was the first thing after the church and the hall.
I booked in April 05 for 06.
