I'm pretty sure you can book them as soon as you confirm the date/time. Each officiant is different, but they would prob like to get it on their calendar sooner rather than later. I don't think it's ever 'too early'. HTH!

i was just assuming maybe they did a year in advance and i have more than a year to go (blah!)

Depends on the officiant but so far the ones I've contacted are booking 2010.

i have only had one officiant tell me its too soon to book, the rest are booking 2010

wow I can't believe they are booking 2010 already! We booked ours about 8 months before and we had no problems being turned away. You only will need to meet with them 3 or so times before the wedding so its not a huge rush to get someone right away.

are they open to any ideas you have such as candle or sand ceremony, readings etc?

I had a company email me with info and it included all sorts of different ceremony types. Haven't contacted them myself yet but here's the website

I booked mine a year in advance ... I say the sooner the better if there is somone that you really like and want

we dont really want a certian person in particular, i honestly dont even know where to start in searching for an officiant

we are using pastor April. My sister also used her and her ceremony was beautiful!

We booked ours about 1 1/2 years in advance ... as soon as we had the hall settled. We had very specific officiants in mind and wanted to make sure we got 'em

You can book now, and you can begin by searching Officiants on here, or post a question for the '08ers and '09ers who have booked/used the various officiants in the area.

Our Rabbi was actually one of the first vendors we booked. We had him at least 8 months in advance.

I would say book your officiant as soon as you book the ceremony location and hall.
