Re: how early can you do your registry
I would say you can start it know if you want to. We already got some gifts off of the registry.

Re: how early can you do your registry
That's really up to you. We started one at Macy's for our china already are we aren't getting married until June of NEXT year. (but we kept getting asked by his mother - so I just gave in!)
The other registries for every day stuff will be done over the summer or in the fall probably.

Re: how early can you do your registry
You can definitely go now and register. Just be careful not to select something that's in the process of being discontinued. I have a registry at macy's and fell in love with a set of casual china which was on the verge of being discontinued. Fortunately, FH and I just got something similar that I LOVE by the same manufacturer, but I was slightly depressed for a while when I found out our dishes were no more! :(

Re: how early can you do your registry
LOL ... i laugh b/c we did ours SO early b/c we were SO excited to register (also b/c we are having an e-party a year before so we needed a registry for that)...
i would say we registered around this past sept/oct and our wedding is 9/2007!!
so register away!! you are def not too early... it's a lot of fun but bring snacks (reinforcements lol) b/c it takes a lot out of you.

Re: how early can you do your registry
We reigstered a few months after getting engaged b/c people wanted to get us engagement gifts. The only things we waited to register for were our bedding and towels just in case some of those things got discontinued. I think most stores recommend waiting to register for bedding until a few months before the wedding.

Re: how early can you do your registry
we started our registry a year and a half before the wedding b/c of pressure from our parents. they wanted to buy us engagement gifts. i say you can definitely register now. just pay attention to any advice the stores give you about discontinued and seasonal items. we didn't listen and now we have to go pick out new sheets!

Re: how early can you do your registry
I'd say 6-9 months before the wedding because most of the items especially with Crate and Barrel get discontinued pretty quickly. You will be updating your registry a lot more than you would want to and it can get frustrating.

We have the same wedding date!!!!! I haven't registered yet :( Well, actually I kind of did. I registered at Fortunoff's but haven't put anything on the registry yet!! My mom said we still have some time!!! I plan to start this month.

Re: how early can you do your registry
I'm almost completely registered and I'm getting married in November. Everyone kept asking us so we did it and have already gotten a bunch of gifts off of it. We still have to register for bedding and towels and stuff, but we were told that that stuff is very seasonal so it is best to wait to closer to the date to avoid items being discontinued. Go for it!!

Re: how early can you do your registry
We started ours within a month of getting engaged because my mom was throwing us an engagement party.

Re: how early can you do your registry
I am dying to register, but first we have to decide what our living situation is going to be. We both own homes and havent officially decided where we are going to live, so I dont know what exactly we are going to need

Re: how early can you do your registry
I'm also getting married in Oct. We registered a couple weeks after getting engaged in Aug. We were having an engagement party in Sept and everyone was asking us where we were registered.

Re: how early can you do your registry
I did mine 6 mos prior. Only because the rep at Macy's told me to do it before the summer brides started doing it in Jan.

Right away. It's time consuming & you never know how early your shower will be.
