My moh and family asked if i wanted my shower a little early because fh and i are buying a house this month. How early is too early? I mean, it would be great to have my shower now but thats tacky. How early would be OK?

I would think that anything over 4-6 months would be too early.

maybe have an engagement party - have parents and friends spread the word that you are registered- and there isn't going to be a shower

I agree. Too early, and too close to your house purchase will look like you are trying just to get gifts to fill the house.
Plus, it's bad luck to use gifts from your shower before you are married.

I just attended a shower on Saturday. The wedding is in November! It was 8 months before the wedding and completely tacky to me. They, too, just bought a house and it really looked as though they were trying to furnish it via shower gifts.
