I would love to go on my honeymoon but I spoke to 2 girls who went and one of them spent $7,000 and the other about $10,000. Is it me or is that crazy?

You should go online check out prices. Than go to a reputable travel agent and speak with them. I'm sure they can help you lower prices and such

our original HM plans were to take a cruise on Royal Caribbean through the Hawaiian islands. it was MUCH cheaper than trying to do Hawaii by land. you might want to look into that as an option!

How long do you plan on going for. We are going for 2 weeks and spending $6000....but we also chose pretty expensive hotels...I think if you pick more reasonable hotels and don't want ocean view rooms then your price would go down much more. Start contacting travel agents. We went through liberty travel because we found them to be the cheapest for what we wanted...(but all liberty travel prices are different...just because one liberty quotes you it price it doesn't mean you will get the same price from another liberty travel). We used Liberty and went to San Fran for 2 nights, then to 2 islands, Kauai and Maui, and went all out on both! The cost for everything was $5,500. That included Hyatt hotels, rental cars, flights, etc.
We're not exactly sure how much was spent there, but I'd estimate about $2K or so - again, we splurged.
IMO, it was worth every penny - we had the best 2 weeks of our LIVES
edited to add: We booked shortly after 9/11 and sadly, the flights were much cheaper than normal, due to the circumstances.

we booked our honeymoon (although not to hawaii) at liberty on merrick rd over by my house in merrick.....they were great! i highly recommend them so far!

Everyone told me it would be like $7000-10,000 for a HM, and it could very well be, but I went through Hawaiian Visitor Center all through e-mail and they were by far the best deal. I checked out Liberty Travel, PleasantHolidays.com, Travelocity.com and American Express travel, Nancy from the visitor center came in about $1000 less. We kept e-mailing back and forth until the price was right. FM if you want more details.

I spent a little less than 6k and I stayed at 5 star resorts on two islands and a 4 star on the other island, I flew coach and didnt book the best rooms but we got some upgrades, you can probably get great deals online as well.
