How expensive is Photoshop?

I've always wanted to have a good program for editing my photos, but heard it was really expensive.

I'm now thinking of taking a class on Photoshop but the requirement is having the program - not sure if I should buy it....or, where I can get a decent price on it?

Ask around....Alot of people already have it.....Maybe someone can lend it to you and you can install it. I have an illegal copy of it that I borrowed from a friend. Im sure maybe one of your friends have one....hopefully. Photoshop can be very expensive...

It's very expensive - in the range of a few hundred dollars.

Not that I recommend it, but 'borrowing' a copy will save you...

I saw it in Office Max for $999.00. Ouch!! I wish I had it at home too (I have it on my PC at work), but there's no way I'm going to spend THAT much! I downloaded a trial program, however, from the website... it's only available for 30 days, but it helps to get a project done! Good luck

I'm not sure where you are taking the class, but I took a class a few years ago at SUNY Stonybrook and the teacher told us, if we wanted to purchase, we could get a 'student copy' at the school bookshop with proof that we were taking the class. She said it was the same stuff but much cheaper, except that I believe you were not supposed to use it for commercial purposes. Maybe try asking the instructor.

Keep in mind that 'borrowing' it is a very illegal and software companies are very vigilant about prosecuting when they have proof. Albeit, very hard to prove.

That said - Photoshop ELEMENTs (a much cheaper program) does virtually everything you would want to do in Photoshop and is easier to master.

If you are just editing photos, you do not need a class. There are several very good books out there.

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP 7.0 is like $700 @ the MAC store--i almost positive--I have PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS and it is great--it does everything basically-just like SONICSTEF said--

Not sure what exactly the class would offer, but it was specifically for Photoshop.

Is the program difficult to learn and navigate? This class is through Adult Ed so it's pretty cheap, but I don't want to waste my time if I can figure everything out on my own.
