Re: How Far and advance to start Make Up Trials
Start emailing or calling makeup artists SOON! The most popular ones book up A YEAR in advance, and you need to check if your wedding date is even available before bothering with a trial!
I have booked my trial for next Monday, and I booked the trial in December '03 for my July '04 wedding. And by then, a couple people I called were already booked!
There are plenty of good artists, though, so don't worry .. but its never too soon to start doing trials, to get an idea of what you like!
Good Luck!!

START NOW
I had three trials already and booked and my wedding is a week after yours.
I was shocked to see how many of the artists were booked solid and I started looking in December!
Word of advise. When emailing or questioning a possible find out if they are available first. NOt just to do a trial but the ACTUAL wedding. So frustrating to get emails and such when they can't do my wedding!
Trials are costly! Learned that the hard way.
Best of luck!

Re: How Far and advance to start Make Up Trials
I got married Oct 18th and I did my first trial at the end of august.. I had planned to be tan at my wedding so I figured august would be a good time to judge with my skin color.
Edited to say: I booked WAY in advance.. just didnt have my trial til later.

Re: How Far and advance to start Make Up Trials
no you shouldn't book now. Only becaue they you will make me feel REALLY behind.
I'm a week before you.
I was going to wait untill the spring or summer I can't do it now.
Too many other things, but I guess I'll bump that up. I am trying to do band, hotel for guests & photographers right now & waiting for my shoes to come in so my dress can be ordered and researching BM dresses to start looking next month & FH is researching HM.
So, make-up's gonna have to wait.

Togetherforever, please do not go by me. I had everything booked by mid July of last year. I am just ahead with everything.

Re: How Far and advance to start Make Up Trials
Do it as soon as you can. I wanted to go on a trial with Jacqueline Nicole back in October, and she was already booked for my day. I went on two other trials and wasn't too happy, and I finally found someone I'm happy with. It's just you don't know how many trials you're going to go on. If you're happy with your first trial, then you're lucky.
