your RH is your hotel where you are making blocks (if you are making blocks)
I found a hotel thats about 10 min away from our RH but its 199 a night. but then i found another one thats about 25 min from it for 139.
Is 25 min too far?? I feel like it is...

Re: How far from...
They won't let me book it yet but mine will be 10 mins away and thats the closest
If you're really concerned about the distance consider having a shuttle to and from the hotel and it won't matter how far it is.

Re: How far from...
well my 'possible' RH isnt near any hotels etc a tiny motel across the parking lot. My crowd's wayy too loud for that place. I'm evil. I'll get the rooms but they have to drive themselves etc.

Re: How far from...
I think you should be okay. I think your guests would rather pay less and have a slightly longer shuttle ride than paying more money for a hotel that is closer. Especially considering it is expensive for a guest to attend a wedding in the first place.
My hotel is 20 mins from my RH. I chose this hotel because it cost less and was nicer (IMO) than the more expensive hotels near my hall. We will have a shuttle so I'm sure everyone will be mingling on the ride to/from our reception and not mind the time. Originally I was a little concerned about the distance but my mom said that she has been to a bunch of weddings where the shuttle took about 20 mins and she said that she didn't think it would be a problem. A large majority of the group that will be staying at the hotel all know each other and my mom said in the past they were all chatting and having a good time on the shuttle.

Re: How far from...
The 3 hotels I'm suggesting to our guests are all within 5 minutes walking, or about the same driving (lights).
I was going to do a room block, but FH and I felt really uncomfortable being responsible in case the rooms didn't book. Instead we are giving 3 different options to our guests, all with different price points, so they can choose which works best for them.

Re: How far from...
Thanks ladies.
I think im going to block rooms at both hotels and just let my guests decide. The 25 min drive is also going toward where most of my guests are originally coming from so they may choose to book there (i just realized that)... Im also going to inquire about the shuttle

One possibility is literally next door, and the other is about 15-20 min away, but with a free shuttle service. We haven't booked yet, so we're not 100% sure what we're going to decide on ($10 price difference between the 2).

Re: How far from...
There are 2 hotels up the road from my RH- both are about 10 minutes away. I'm hoping to be able to rent a trolley or bus to shuttle everyone back and forth (I've heard some horror stories about the hotel shuttles not picking people up...including the bride! )
If you are providing transportation between your RH and the hotel, I think it should be fine that it's a little further away. When my cousin got married, the hotel was about 15 minutes away from her RH and she rented the trolley for us so it wasn't bad at all. We were all too drunk to even know how long we were on there lol...it reminded me of the drunk bus in college
