...should i start my fittings? My dress just came in last fri and my wedding is 7/25... I don't want to go too soon in case I lose a few more pounds but I also don't want to start too late either... I was thinking a little more than a month before? Month and a half? I don't know how long it usually takes... Thanks!
My salon told me mid-September and I'm getting married first week of November.....so that's about six weeks?
i've been told 6 - 8 weeks. probably depends on how extensive you expect your alterations to be too. like if you dramatically changed sizes, you'd probably want to err on the side of more time for alterations.
Even if you wait to start your fittings, you should go look at the dress as soon as you can to make sure that it is exactly what you ordered and that it is in perfect condition.
i had my first fitting the middle of last month
i just had my first fitting and my wedding isn''t until October!! is that wierd? they said i had to have my first fitting within 2 weeks after the dress came in. they only did the length though. I have to go back 5 weeks before for my next fitting.
My wedding is Sept 5th and my 1st fitting is July 13th. I thought it was going to be later but that's the date they gave me.

I'm the week before you and did my first fitting at the end of May. My second fitting is JUly 7th. THey wont actually make any final cuts until my second fitting.

I think it also depends on what you need altered. I just need a bustle and it taken in. No hem. So my first fitting if June 12 my second is July 9th
I heard 6 weeks before for first fitting, 4 weeks for second fitting, and 2 weeks for third fitting (if needed).
