we booked our deacon about a year.. it was a close friend of the family. we booked our rabbi around the same time, but he backed out 3 months before the wedding so we had to find a new one. I think we found the one we used about 1 month before. Its better to do it sooner then later because you want to make sure they are available on your date.

I just booked mine today.. LOL I'm having a Priest & a Rabbi and I have 6 months to go...
I didnt realize you should book them so far in advance.... wheww I'm glad I got lucky!
