How far in advance do you block hotel rooms?

How far in advance do you/canyou block hotel rooms?

anyone know or do this yet?

I was wondering this too. I was planning on looking into it in May, before we send out STDs.

ETA: I got a letter in the mail from Holiday Inn, so I would assume that it isn't too early to book.

we blocked room in october for our sept wedding. its never 2 early. the earlier the better

I got all the prelim. info from Wingate and I think that's what we are going to do!

There is really no where else and I got a good rate.

I think I am supposed to sign something and send it back, but I'm going to worry about that later.

We have to go check the hotels out!!! I am not sure if we are going with Wingate or Marriott!! I guess it depends on the rate!

I plan on blocking rooms for me, my future hubby and the bridal party in May. Most hotels dont let you book until 365 days before the date. But since mine is on Memorial day i have to get a head start.

Most hotels wont have avalibility more that 11-12 m os in advance

before you send out the save the dates, I would say 4-6 months at least. some hotels won't let you do it any more than that anyway.

We reserved ours already also. We booked the Fox Hollow Inn in January and the Best Western last month.

We blocked the rooms, but the guests can't reserve them until 1 year before, that is how their system works, but i don't know if they made an exception, since we are getting married on Rashashana (?)...so you may be able to block, but not reserve

I tried to block rooms at the Hampton Inn and Hilton and they both told me to call back at the one year mark.
