How far in advance do you have to book a make-up and hair person?
I am already seeing people that have trial pictures up more than a year before their wedding! Should I be looking into this now??

I think it depends how high of a demand the person is in... I booked my guy like a year in advance- AND he already had another wedding booked for earlier in the day. So- some people book up quickly.

I think it depends on the month of your wedding if it's a 'busy season'. Your getting married in October that has become a busy month. If you feel you want someone that you know is in high demand. I would call them for a trial. Even though it's over a year away. You could have one thing off your list!

I booked jacqueline nicole for a friday at the end of may 05' and she was already booked for that sunday. The sooner the better. With her your first make-up trial is free so I will pay for another one closer to my wedding date to tweek things. Good luck.

ASAP!!! I started looking for a makeup person 8 months before my wedding and all the ones I intended to see first (Jenn from Fairytale, Oksana, JN, etc etc) were ALLLLLL BOOKED.
Well, minor correction. One of them had a TRIAL booked for like 5 months later and therefore I couldn't try with her. I thought THAT was ridiculous. What if that bride didn't book? That makeup artist just lost months of possible bookings for that date. ANYWAY....
like I said -- ASAP!.... two things I learned that you can never book TOO early are MAKEUP and PHOTOGRAPHER. Don't learn the hard way like me. And yes, your first clue should be that there are girls getting married in Sept or Oct of 2005 that booked their makeup MONTHS ago -- well over a year in advance!
Good luck!

evidentally, from my experience, you need to book BEFORE you get engaged!

I got married on October 1, 2004 (my one year anniversary will be on the day you are getting married) and I booked Jacqueline Nicole in mid October of 2003, I think the exact date was October 16.
I am so glad I booked her early, because she is the best.
Taralei was just getting popular on the boards in Feb 04 or March 04, so I booked her on April 04. I loved my hair.
I was so happy with both my make-up and hair.

I just booked my makeup (Denise from Angel Eyes) on saturday. I called Tarale for hair and she is already booked and that was back in the beginning on December. So I say, it's never too early to start!

i just booked Tarale for May 7th and I booked jacqueline Nicole about a month ago, but I think i got really lucky with my date, it doesn't seem that popular.
I saw Tarale yesterday, she said she was already getting calls for 06 weddings.
