How far in advance should you start your

dress alterations?
I am getting married on Nov 3rd. I just got the call that my dress is finally in.
I think I am taking my dress to a local seanstress to have it done.
When should I go to pick up the dress and start my fittings?
Thanks!

I had a total of 3 fittings, with my first one being 3 weeks before!! I'd go within the next week and you should be fine!!

How exciting!!!

I think I started about 6 weeks beforehand. I had 2 fittings -- basically the dress fit perfectly at the second fitting, so they just showed my mom and MOH how to do the bustle and I was on my way. I just had to come back to pick it up two days before my wedding.

Some people do need 3 fittings, so make sure you schedule your second fitting early enough that there is time if you need a third.

You'll be fine for November!
