....to book an e-party?? I got engaged in the middle of April and really wanted my e-party in September... but I approached my mom about it and she's all refusing to do anything until next spring (my sister is getting married in december and she's concerned w/ those expenses). Part of me doesn't want to wait until next year because by then i don't know if my engagement will be 'old news' to people... but on the other hand if she will be paying for it then it would def be helping me out since i will have other expenses..
arghhh
so just wanted to get opinions on this, what do you think is the max amount of time after the engagement that you think someone should schedule an e-party?

i think if you wait until next spring it wouldnt be bad, because you would still have one year until your wedding. everyone would have the excitement from your sisters wedding over with and now they would have your engagement party and then start looking foward to your wedding. You could even have your eparty on your one year mark as a one year to go type thing

we got engaged on the first of the year and our E-party is sept 6th. we would've had it in august but they were booked.

we got engaged sept 2nd and havd the eparty nov 30... we didnt want to wait long bc we wanted to share our engagement with everyone now and not one year from now...plus it was so long until the wedding we wanted an excuse to party!!

I don't think its too far. I think because your wedding is in 2010 that gives you more time to have an eparty.

I believe the 'rule of thumb' is a year or more from the wedding. So if your getting married in June, next spring would be fine!

we got engaged in november 3 and the engagement party is next weekend! so it was almost 7 months.

mine wont be til next year .... i feel like the wedding is too far away and next year will be a yr away and I want the e party to be fresh in ppls mind .... plus you dont want to add on the pressure for your mom
