how far is/was your RSVP date before your wedding day? (poll)

just curious. We just ordered invites this week and ended up doing exactly 1 month before the wedding. Not sure what's normal...

I am putting my RSVP date as one month exactly before the wedding.

We figured it would probably make it easier for our guests to remember and 1 month is probably a good amount of time before

Our RSVP date was April 7th and my wedding date was May 12th. We still had to track down ppl after the rsvp date of course, but majority sent it in.

I sent out my invites in mid July and my wedding was in Sept...Up until (literally) 1 week before my wedding, ppl actually declined...or we had to call some ppl to get a reply. I don't get ppl sometimes, I just feel that is so rude esp if the reception is paid for too. Oh well, but I say, you should give your guests at least alil more than a month notice...JMO.

When you talk about 'notice' what do you mean? We're mailing out invites mid-May with an RSVP date in mid-July, for our wedding in mid-August. I think they will have more than enough notice, and hopefully will be able to respond on time

Mine is about a month.

4 to 6 wks is the norm..

usually most catering halls want final counts 2 wks prior to the event...so keep that in mind..

some people tend to go with the 5 or 6 week beforehand because of the late RSVPs received and the headache of having to chase after people...

on a side ntoe..
dont forget to # your rsvps according to your guest list.. it'll make your life a lot easier because people sometimes forget to write their names!

5 weeks before. I was still missing a lot of responses though at that point and a lot of people sent it during the week or two after the rsvp date, so I'm glad I made it that early.

We did just shy of 6 weeks prior. I figure that'll give me a few weeks for the stragglers and then enough time to call those who 'forget' to send it in!!

we did 6 weeks, only because it was a holiday weekend and DH's family tends to not RSVP to things...

We did about 8 weeks so that we would have time to call people and send out a B-list if necessary. i am glad we did. I think most people do about a month or so.

Mine is June 27th and the wedding is August 8th... so that give us time to kick some *** if people don't RSVP!

Mine was 5 weeks before and I still was trying to track down people right up to the wedding day.

Ours was 1 month before, I didnt have to give my RH my final count until the week before so it worked out fine-we only had to contact a few people but otherwise most sent them in
