How has being a mother changed you?

How has being a mother changed you?

I was recently asked this question by my single 25yo cousin. At first I was like what are you talking about I'm still the same person. But after saying that I immediately had to retract that statement. Motherhood has changed me! I am kinder, gentler, and by far a happier person. I always felt like there was a something missing in my life and I always thought it had to do with my parents divorce. Andrew fills a void I never knew I had. He has changed my world! It's no longer all about me ( I hate to admit I was even like that) . I can't believe how much I adore and love my baby. I always heard about a 'mothers love' for their children, but I never really thought much about it. They Love I have for my baby is by far the strongest love I've ever felt. Motherhood has also changed my relationship with my husband. I never thought it would have been possible to love my husband more than what I did. But Let me tell you I do! It's crazy but I love him much more because he has given me Andrew! I also love him more because of the way he is with our son. When I hear my DH singing to our son or playing together it melts my heart.

What's there left to say??? That was beautiful and perfect.

Although there is one aspect I don't agree 100% with on that statement and that's about my husband. I feel so blessed that he gave me Amber, but I feel alot more resentment towards him because of his distance towards her. Like I can't understand why he doesn't feel and do for her like I do? I really feel that somewhere in his life he's going to regret his actions because she hardly knows who he is now Their relationship will never be strong and it's 100% because of who he is....
