How hi does the garter go

Since i was reading someones post about garters on ebay i thought id take a look. I saw one i liked. And its the colors of the BM dress i would like so i thought it was be great and it also goes with my theme. But i want to make sure its the right size but im not 100% sure how hi it goes.

Mid thigh is where you usually put it. Since I don't want something to 'bind' me all day around my thigh, I plan to put just above my knee. It's more comfortable for me.

I couldnt wear mine too high as my dress was one layer of silk and was not poufy. It's outlines would have shown through.
