How High is Too High???
Okay, our Broyhill Queen Sleighbed bedroom set was delivered this week .. and we were in desperate need of a mattress set .. so we shopped .. and found a set we loved.
Now, I was set in my head I wanted a low profile box spring .. however, in shopping around .. it seemed that no one had it in stock .. ultimately, after seeing other sleighbeds with regular boxsprings and mattresses .. I thought that would be fine .. and I really wanted the matress set quickly .. so I decided to settle and go for it .. now I'm not sure if it's too high!!
The low profile boxspring would be 4 1/2 inches shorter .. our mattress (measures 14') is the Stearns & Foster 'Chrisswell' from Rockaway Bedding .. or the 'C' Series Pillow Top .. the name changes depending on where you get it .. at Sleepy's .. it's the 'Chappelhall' .. or other places the 'Chesterbury.'
Anyway .. I can have the box spring exchanged for the low profile .. however, I don't totally hate this current set .. maybe I'm just not used to it .. our other bed was very low to the floor .. and I'm worried that if I go through the trouble of having an exchange done .. maybe I won't like it the other way!
Oh, I'm so confused!!
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are?? The mattress doesn't come up to the very top edge of the footboard, it's maybe about 2 inches below .. but I'm 5'6' and when I sit on the side of the bed, my feet don't hit the ground ... not even my toes ... same with hubby .. who is 6' tall! The Queen comforter I have, barely comes down to the siderails .. and the top of the mattress is above the top of the nightstands.
I've looked on-line at pictures of sleighbeds .. and have noticed that the heights vary tremendously on how they are displayed .. is there a 'correct' way???
Here's our set .. not our actual bedroom:
