How important is

How important is

the level of the room you are staying in for your HM to you?

Would you rather stay in the best room at a 3 1/2-4 star resort or a standard room in a 5 star resort?

I feel like such a brat

If those were my two options I would definitely chose the standard room at the 5 star resort. It will still be better than the best room at a 3 1/2 star.

I feel like it's very psychological. Your honeymoon is an important thing so you want it to feel different/special from a normal vacation. So, wanting to stay in a great suite makes sense. I'm not sure what I'd do. I'd see what amenities were offered by the 5 star. If staying in a fancy suite at the 3.5 star is the equivalent of a regular room at the 5 star, then I'd probably go 5 star.

definitely the five star because everything will be better (the service, the food, the decor). Usually hotels upgrade you anyway if they have the room.

To me, the quality of the resort is more important. I don't plan on spending too much time in my hotel room, adn when I do- its not the room I will be interested in

I have stayed at hotels in all levels and I must say the yes, a 5-star is nice, but a 3 1/2 boutique hotel is way better than a 5-star chain hotel. You can get more personalized service and better accomodations. So I guess it depends on the type hotel you are at more than the rating.

Personally, I would rather stay in a better room (larger and preferably a water view) at the Hyatt than a standard room (small with no view) at the Waldorf.

I'd rather stay in a better hotel and a standard room..that's what we are doing..

I would definitely opt for the better hotel. Their standard rooms will be more spacious then let's say the Best Western up the street.

Plus, the level of service at a 5 star place is unmatched. Treat yourself to that, rather than some extra space.

I think I'd go for the standard room in the 5 star resort!! The standard room may even be better than the best room in the 3 1/2 star resort!

This is pretty much how I feel but it depends on the what hotel. Which ones are you talking about?

Other then room service and pool areas, I don't usually go crazy with the other amenities.

We HM'd at Disney World and had a really really nice room at the Boardwalk for the same price as the smallest room at the Grand Floridian. When we were at the hotel we were in our room for the most part so I want that to be nicer.

Also and this is me, when we go away for a long time (4+ nights) I really enjoy having a seperate sitting area and more space. I get uncomfortable sitting in the same room for a whole week.
