hey guys... midterms just finished THANK GOD and its the beginning of spring break. its about 3 30 am and im online looking for more things to add to each table (yeah... a great way to spend my friday/saturday). I was thinking about it and figured that the table is very important and needs to look good. i was going for chair covers and sashes and now taking that away to have a bigger budget for what i can put on the tables. so far its a high cp and im adding either 3 or 4 votive candles and rose petals. but after viewing some pics online i saw a few where roses were placed at the bottom of the high cp vase and it looks amazing. will the roses be too much? the table size is 60 inches round and from 28 to 30 tables. i dont want to over do it, but i really want something gorgeous. hopefully this week ill have some pics when i visit the rh to see how everything will look space wise. so, this is what im thinking, either i do the roses (a lot of them) and no chair covers or sashes. or do i keep the sashes and add other things that dont cost as much maybe? or take the money from the sashes and chaircovers and add it to something else? what would you do?

Re: how important is table decor?
Do you have to go with the chair covers provided by your RH? You may be able to have both the chairs and the tables decorated beautifully if you do your research well. It will really depend on the RH rules too. I'm renting 125 chair covers and sashes for $437...this is the cheapest I've seen anywhere. As far as High centerpieces and votives.....try searching ebay for bulk table decor. You can score a pretty amazing deal. Good luck.

Re: how important is table decor?
ok, IMHO I would NOT get rid of the chair covers, in some circumstances the chair covers will help make the room. If you have nice chairs then maybe forget them but I would not get rid of them completely. Yes, the tables should be inviting and warm and gorgeous, but remember there is also alot of things that get put out on the tables as far as the regular setting for each guest. I know it annoys the crap out of me whenI got to a wedding and the CP is so big that I cant put my drink on the table without moving just about everything.
i would maybe add votives and rose petals, LOTS of rose petals and that should be fine.

I would go with the chair covers and no sashes and focus more on the table. Lots of rose petals will be good and please make sure the CP is not too overwhelming. You will def piss off ppl if they cant eat comfortably. Do what your heart tells you but don't forget about ur budget. You want your day to be perfect but you don't want to pay for it for the rest of your life.....

oh boy.. I hate chair covers Unless the chairs are just awful. I say go with the dressing up the table instead.
Why don't you light up the vase with led lights at the base for some added drama.
I tend to not like scattered rose pedals on the table it looks messy and the table does not look neat. I think it is great for the floor or tent card tables though.
simple votives are a nice idea or a colored table runner if your table is square.
what about ribbon ? Go to my album for some ideas

Re: how important is table decor?
I really think the table decor does not matter that much. For most of my wedding, people were up dancing not sitting down.
On my tables were: tall CPs on a votive candle pedestal, 6 votive candles and petals. FH also put two bottle of wine on each table. When the guests came in the tables already had an appetizer at each setting along with menus and out favor.

What place are you using to rent the chair covers. My RH provides these but they are all white and I wanted to incorporate color.
