how importants is the video

How important is the Video to you? I mean you spend all that money on a video, that you watch 2 times maybe 3 in your life?

I'm getting a video and it's something that FH and I knew we wanted.

I thought the video was not important...until I went to the videographer that I booked. I actaully had tears in my eyes watching someone else's wedding video!! While the photgrapher captures the emotion of the day in still pictures, the videographer brings the emotions to life. Wild Rose (my videographer) will do a documentary style where the bride and groom actually talk about how they met, how FH proposed, and how they are feeling on the big day. I think if you are unsure like I was, go and see a few videographers. That will help you make a decision. I admit the video is not something I am going to watch everyday but a photographer I met with mentioned that his kids love watching the video. The video went from something I was not 'wasting' my money on to something that I could not leave out.

I think the video is just as important as the pictures. The video captures moments that pictures don't!!!

I totally agree. I'm so glad we captured our ceremony and reception. Every time I watch certain parts, it makes me cry. Within the first few weeks after we got the uncut video, we watched it at least 3 or 4 times (first by ourselves and then with various family members). IMO, it's not a waste of money at all and is definitely worth getting.

More than likely if you don't do a video you will regret it.

Your day is going to go by so incredibly fast and there will be much you won't remember after the high of the day wears off. There are also many things that you won't even see throughout your day. I know for us, having the video and watching it (we don't have our edited video yet with music, but have the raw uncut footage) was so wonderful.

we were not sure about the video..but we decided to go for it...people say you miss so much of the wedding and it goes so fast...so atleast we will have that to remember it..or see thigns we missed....

but we both agreed...that we are just having the guy video the wedding as if he was a fly on the wall....there will be NO interviewing people.....we want him to stay out of the way and just act as a guest...

Let me just say that I think the video is one of the most priceless and important things you will get from your wedding.

My Aunt got married in 1986 and over the years we've seen the video countless times. Each time it is amazing to see our whole family, how it was back then. The people who were still alive, how young we all looked. We reflect on how the years have changed our family. We laugh a lot.

We have my Grandma dancing and talking on that video who has since passed and just watching her with me when I was only 4 is something you can't ever get back again.

I say DEFINITELY get the video, you might not realize its impact now but you will one day when life has changed. Think of how great it would be for your kids to have that glimpse into your family sooo many years ago...

i think video is very important!!! and i have NO idea why photography costs so much more than video, considering all the editing hours that are put into video.

absolutely. you may not watch it all that often, but I think that in years to come you will be glad to have it. Think how amazing it will be in 20 years to be able to watch your grandparents dance together or listen to you best man's speech all over again, or catch that one time ever that you actually saw your dad cry, as he gave you away... those are moments worth capturing.

Besides, I think it might be kind of sweet to watch the video on major anniversaries and things like that.

definitely worth the money, in my opinion.

I was one of those people that was totally and completely against getting a video. In my head they were cheesy productions that you make family members suffer through watching. But then I was talking to FFIL, of all people, and he made a great point. He said think about what the video will mean to you in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years even. Think about showing it to your kids and allowing them to see family members that may no longer be with us. That sold me.

I am def having a video, I think its great to have to show people who couldn't come to the wedding. I have seen other people's and loved them, but I am also the type of person who would watch it several times

The video is very impotant to us. And honestly I will probably watch it over 100 times. I did with my sweet sixteen video. I love watching the memories!

the video was something that fh and i really wanted.. it is really one of the few tangable memories of the day you have once the day is over..

it's soemthing to show you kids/grandkids..

the last holiday we had all of my aunts bring their wedding videos over the house and we watched them all we were cracking up.. they were great..my uncles even got into watching it.. they were amazed how skinny they all were and they made fun of they clothes they all wore(mind you they all got married like 20 yrs ago)

it's definatly one of those keepsakes i wouldn't do without
