My FI was not a happy camper last nite. I told him about our GTG on Thursday of next week and he was like 'why can't the grooms have a GTG?' I told him that 'most grooms aren't into all the planning like you are honey.' So was I right? How involved is your DH to be?

he is VERY involved..he goes to every vendor with me, he talks to me online all day from work with ideas for centerpieces, and candles, and spreading rose petals...even our vendors have mentioned to me that he is very involved compared to most grooms...i love that hes helping out so much...isnt doing things together what marriage is all about anyway

fh is very involved, good thing because I wouldn't do this otherwise.
he heads the creative dept of our event. he did photography, he is in charge of music, STD's, and invites.

My FH isn't very involved bc`of our different schedules. I do the bulk work involving research and then clear things with him for the final decision. He's come with me when he can and I know he'd like to more often. So he basically told me to do what makes me happy and go with it.

It's on and off. One minute, he's all involved with opinions, the next minute, I'm dragging him to get things done and nagging him to call vendors.

I've nicknamed my FH 'Mr. Opinions.' He went on all but one reception hall visit and he's going to see bands with me and he'll do the food tasting/menu. For the rest of the choices we have to make he'll get veto power, but I'll make most of the decisions.
I would have never guessed he would be so interested in all of this. I think for him there is a bit of ego involved... he's paying for most of our wedding so he wants to show the world that he can throw a great party.

I do all the phone calls, research, setting up of appointments. He comes with me to all the appointments and offers his opinion afterwards.

My FH looks at this like a conquest. He wants efficiency, efficiency, efficiency! At least it means the planning gets done. The only thing he didn't like was coming with me and my parents to the florist. He really wasn't needed. But, in my defense...sometimes my mom is unreasonable so I wanted to have a few people on my side (FH and my dad). But actually my mom loved my ideas and let me run with it. My FH's biggest help to me: organizing the guest list. He wrote a program to calculate how many guests we have if everyone says yes, and as we input no's, it will subtract the guests. It calculates how many favors we need, how many thank you's, and how many STD's and invites we need to send. It's great!

haha i wish my fh was less involved sometimes...we had our first fight in maybe a year..and it was about me getting everything i want at the wedding, and him not...lol it was hysterical..i wanted to keep a straight face but couldnt do it

He has gone with me to every showcase, to every one of our possible reception sites (before we booked FH) and to every vendor we have looked at so far.
I am fortunate enough to be able to do our vendor research online all day at work, so when I get home, I present it to him and we look at websites together and discuss our likes and dislikes.
We are doing everything together and are equally involved in the decision making. We get so annoyed when certain vendors or BMs at the halls that we visited direct their attention solely to me, or they say something along the lines of 'It's the bride's day - whatever she wants is what you'll do, right?' or 'All you have to do is put on a tux and show up, right?'

Whoa...you ladies got yourself some creative men...my FH wants to know about it all AFTER my ideas are turned into reality! I dont mind though...I cant imagine sitting there with him discussing centerpiece ideas...I do ask him for opinions though.

same for me- My Dad told him his only job is to show up- he took it seriously
if I am happy- he is happy- it works for me
