We are both of west indian culture so i guess it was pretty easy. We are having both spanish and haitian music, we are serving black cake and I think i will be wearing a mantilla veil ( still not sure about this)

There will definitely be some Irish music played during the evening for FH's family. Not really incorporating any other 'heritage-related' things into the wedding.

Well FH is catholic and Im jewish so there will be a lot of incorporation in our wedding.

For the ceremony we will have a rabbi and a priest, sign a ketubah ( jewish marriage licence) have a chuppa, drink the wine break the glass, light the unitiy candle and have readings.

During the reception we will have the hora and the tarrentella played. It may seem like a lot but it means a ton to both of us so we will make it work :)

Thank you sweetie. The verdict is still out on this. my mother, who is very talented, is making my veil so i am trying to decide what i want. she really wants me to wear a mantilla but i was thinking along the lines of a simple veil on a comb,

FH is Italian, so we are doing the Tarantella at his family's request, lol. I am Irish and am having a bagpiper outside the church.

Its the only way to make both families happy..i mean we both want it too... unfortunatly literally 3/4 of the guests wont know what any of the jewish things we are doing are... it will be interesting to see all the Italians dancing the hora.. haha

You could put it in the program..when I went to a friends brother's wedding (Hindu) I did not know anything but she printed something for FH & I so we could follow along and know what was happening..it was one of the most beautiful weddings I have been too and that paper helped a lot

Im christian and FH is jewish- so we are doing a little bit of this, and a little bit of that. I think just having the wedding here we are also throwing in the New York City/ Long Island culture- people out here are different!
