For Lindenhurst the further south you are (Sunrise Highway and south) the nicer the area. IMO

I have lived in lindenhurst my whole life! I love the area I live it! Its a modest working class neighborhood where everyone knows each other and watches out for one another! The schools are pretty reasonable (I dont know much as I graduated 7 years ago) If you want FM me where it is, like any other town there are not so nice areas!! IMO the farther south you go is not necessarily nicer, But it depends on what you are looking for! Houses south of Montauk generally have smaller properties, and no basements and those that do have basements have been known to have flooding issues. My opinion is that the areas between HOffman and Montauk are really nice, as well as those in the area surrounding the HS. Also around the Firemans Park seems to be nice although I dont know anyone who owns homes in that area. I would vere away from North Lindenhurst, anything North of Straight Path. I told someone else, the only reason I didnt look to buy in Lindy was because of my everybody loves raymond fear!!

Lindenhurst Village YES. North Lindenhurst- I woudl say NO because there ae some really sketchy areas.

I love Lindenhurst! We moved here 2 years ago and my family has lived here forever...I dont know of any areas in Lindenhurst itself that are bad, but yes South of Sunrise is better for quality of houses, streets from what I see and hear. We are one block of Sunrise and its convienent to all, We will stay here if possible when house hunting ( we rent right now).
