When I ordered the dress I was about 20 lb hevier and the store ordered a size 14. Today I went to my first fitting and the dress fits almoust perfect (I am a size 4-6). Am I going nuts!!! or the size is wrong??? What is the deal with these dress sizes???

I normally wear a Juniors 3, Women 0-2.... but my wedding dress is a size 6. I think wedding dresses are sized differently than regular clothes. Just be happy it fits - who cares about the size!

No! Don't worry! My measurements were a size 4... except for the boobs which needed to be in a 6. I will have to have the waist altered.

Awww just ignore the size on the wedding dress. They are sized weird! You fit into a 6 in regular clothes, be happy about that!

Ok if it makes you feel any better I wear a size 6-8 and MY gown was ordered in a size 14. - I had my mom and my sister double check my measurements after the girl took them as well as the Yolanda sizing chart thing. - I'm still not 100% comfortable w/ the whole thing - BUT the sample gown was a size 10 and wouldn't zip up my back and over my boobs - you think i was trying to get into a size 2 !! - Wedding gowns are sized CRAZY !! As long as it fits and you love it - don't worry about the number inside that stupid little tag !! I swear they should take those out !

it also depends onthe manufacturer. I'm usually a 12 & i was ordered a 16 & accordignto the chart, most measuremtsn are only 1/2 inch bigger than mine are, so I think it will jsut fit ( or sicne I've gained, be too tight )
A 14 seems a little big for someone who wears a 6, I would guess a 14 would be it would more like an 10, but it could be the manufacturer & style of dress.
My MOH is an 8 and orderd a 14 for her dress.

my measurements were prerty much exactly a 16, but my boobs would be an 18, but they orderd me a 16 ( I just checked teh chart myself recently)
How's that gonna work? I can't really wear a minimzer, b/c I need a corset for the tummy, and that pushes everything up!

It's just a number - it doesn't mean ANYTHING.
I'm THRILLED that my dress is a 14! When I first bought it I needed an 18!

I am normally a size 6 and my dress was ordered in a 10. They do run really small.

I am a 6 in real clothes (4 in certian items, occasionally an 8 in some things) and my dress is a 10, and fits almost perfect.
Seriously, don't worry about the numbers. Think of it like buying a mens item for yourself.. would it really bother you to wear a 30 in mens clothes because the number itself is so much bigger than a 6 or an 8?
Just think of it as a different measuring scheme.

i can't even get into my clothing sizes angst...
they ordered me an 8 in my wedding gown. i'm generally a 6 in stuff...it hasn't come in yet! i'm getting nervous!!!
they ordered me an 8 in a BM dress and it was way too big!!
