just wanted to find out how many did handwritten calligraphy by themselves or a professional or computer calligraphy or labels or something else.

I also did mines on the computer in the same font as the invites - they came out really nice nobody's gonna know I did it myself! Except you guys of course!

FH did ours on our computer and used the same font as the invites. They looked great. I know technically they are supposed to be handwritten but it just wasn't feasible for us.

Re: how is/did everyone address their invitations?
I had a woman at work do hand calligraphy for me. For $100 extra I thought it was worth it and a nice touch.

I like the idea of it going through the computer - I don't understand the point of a dollar an envelope - save save save!

I used Bill at INKSPUN (Vendor on the site). I emailed names and addresses, fedexed the envelopes to him, picked the font and color I wanted. He emailed the proofs to me (always check!) and within a week, he shipped it back complete! It came out VERY NICE for 65 cents each invitiation and saves us hours of experimenting and printing on the computer.

I'm not at the invitation-stage yet, but I plan on addressing with handwritten calligraphy. I like the personal touch...the extra $ is worth it to me for that reason.

Is there an etiquette rule about envelopes being hand written?

Re: how is/did everyone address their invitations?
Yes, there is an etiquette rule...you should always hand write. Hand written is preferable even if not done in calligraphy over anything computerized. It gives a more personal effect since this is a wedding.
I know alot of the computer programs look like its hand-calligraphy but for me the extra $100 in the scheme of things was well worth it.
I'm sure none of your guests will be personally offended if you send them an invitation with computer callighraphy.
