But it was a $ issue with the ring and wedding. We started talking about getting married after about a year and a half.

about a year and a half -- we can't agree on when we actually started dating - do we count our first date, or do we count when we had the 'we're dating exclusively' discussion. If its after the discussion, its about a year and five months. We dated casually and were both dating other people casually for about a month before we decided to be exclusive.
