How long.....

before your wedding are you having your first fitting. If I am getting married on October 1th, can I go like 2nd week of August? Or would you say sooner?

I think the standard is to have your first fitting approx. 6 weeks before your wedding, unless of course you are expecting they are going to have a ton of work to do on your dress.

i had my first fitting today and my wedding is august 24th. it fit like a glove, even the height was perfect....my next fitting is august 5th just so she can do the bustle.

My wedding is 10.24 and they told me to come end of august for 1st fitting but i'm going 8/7 b/c I'm having sleeves added.

First fitting should be about 6-8 weeks before.

Thanks all you guys. I feel better now that I know it would be okay to do it 2nd week of August. Gives me more time to stop eating like $hit.

My first fitting is 7/17/08. about a month and 1/2 before. But I have been there a few times and put it on.

I think you are okay with August. My wedding is September 12th and I am going for my first fitting July 12th!..So I think you will be okay!!!!

i had my first sitting in DEC for a May wedding it came in fast....had my second in feb and 3rd in march

I'm getting married on Nov 2, and they told me to schedule my 1st fitting in July. I have a lot of beaded-lace trim on a split-front, the dress is long and I'm short, so I think it's going to take a while to get the hem correct. Depending on what you'll need done, I'd say either July or August.
