How long after an interview should I give up thinking I got the job?

I had (what I thought was) a rockin' interview Monday of last week. They gave me an assignment to do which I turned in. I was expecting to hear something back this week and nothing yet. I'm going crazy over here. I'm losing hope and I want this job so bad!

Yes, I did. Then I sent in my assignment via email.

It's for a very large insurance company, but in Human Resources/Community Relations.

Hmmm, I wouldn't give up hope just yet!! Some people just don't realize that you're waiting for an answer and they take their sweet precious time.

Give it until Monday (that'll be 2 weeks after your interview, right?) and then give them a follow-up phone call if you still haven't heard anything.

I would also call Monday if you haven't heard anything..it will also show that you're still interested.
I went through this recently myself..I think it's often just not a priority/other things come up, etc..

You should call them and say that your thanking them for the opportunity. That might spark something.

I had to wait as long as almost 1 month with the company I am working with.

They may not have had the time to review the 'assignments' from everyone yet.

I would give it another week but would keep looking for other opportunities at the same time.
