How long are you leaving to take wedding photos?

How much time before cocktail hour are you planning for photos? I don't want to feel rushed...

We have 3 hours in between the church & cocktail hour as well. I didn't want to feel rushed, but I also wanted to eat at my cocktail hour! hahaha

A lot of the photographers we met with said we definitely allowed plenty of time. But we also have a small bridal party and we both don't have huge families.... so we should be fine.

Me too, but my photographer just told me that he just needs 2 hours - me, FH, our families (we only have 2 ushers and 1 MOH)...so if you have big bridal parties 3 hours should be fine

I think I screwed up on this one. I left myself 1 1/2 hours. TOO late now to change anything

Thats all i have too and the sunsets 20 minutes into that. Not happy about that but nothing I can do about it. Im not even doing a receiving line at the church so we can try and get to the Swan Club ASAP!

I think I am the only bride on here that doesn't care. I have like 2 hours but I won't take that long. I want a few pictures outside if we can and if not that's cool too. I just want pictures with FH, my family and our bridal party of course but I'll use the RH. They have nice stairs, nice walls, and cool chandeliers. I think we will stop at a park real quick where I see a gazebo or lake or something like that maybe. My hall is on busy Jericho Turnpike so I want to take pictures crossing the street. I know ...it sounds crazy but I love NYC pics with traffic and there is a big divider in the street in between Jericho near Floral terrace so I'll take some there. And the bakery that made the cake is across the street so I think we will take some there for laughs.

My church has a really cool setting and little alcoves and stuff where taking pictures will be great so I'll probably shoot some there and then head to the hall. My photographer is going to have it easy. What do people really end up using? The best 50 pics or so and you hang up like 2 or 3 in your house. As long as 10 pictures of FH and I look amazing I'll be happy! And it'll be a nice time to take a big family picture.

we did photos with bridal party and immediate family from 2-4pm and our ceremony started at 5 so we had plenty of time to get to the ceremony location

we had done shots at each respective house earlier for about an hour too

I'm the same as you! My ceremony at the church is at 3 and then i moved my CH up from 7 to 6 (didn't want a big gap). how ever many pictures they take during that period is it, i'm not missing CH! as long as they get 3-5 awesome ones, i am happy!
