engaged in Sept and eparty in June. Our engagment is 2 yrs so we didn't feel we had to rush and have a party.

We got engaged Nov 22nd 2003 our party was June 12 2004! Personally I think the timespan is personal preference.

We will been engaged for about 7 months when we have our e-party. We always knew we wanted a bbq and having one in Feb or March was not an option!

9 months.
This was due to my parents living out of state (2 diff states) and trying to coordinate their schedules and availablr dates at the hall we wanted.
I was okay with this b/c the wedding would 14 months after the E-Party.

I have heard that it should be shortly after the engagement...BUT its up to you..we got engaged in December..E-party was at the end of April

We got engaged in Dec., and our party is at the end of June. We wanted to wait til it got warmer, so we can have our party outside! Can't wait for our Luau! :)

we got engaged on july 4th and on july 26 we already had our e-party i wanted it to be in the summer and that was the only date that was good for everyone. it was quick but im glad we did it this way. and this way we kept it small.

Yes, Congrats and good luck.
We got engaged March 25,2005, the party is August 6, 2005. I would have liked it sooner, but that was the only date open at the place we wanted to have it. I think its your choice, not what rules tell us. Circumstances will dictate everything.
