For you to get pregnant after going off the pill??? I'm getting married in October & FH & I want to start TTC right away - he's concerned that maybe I should go off the pill now so I can get all the chemicals out of my system. What did everyone else do? Any advice?

My last pill was in the beginning of January -- I conceived March 3. I thought it would take much much much longer. (plus, it was twins, which can happen if you get pg within a month off the pill).
You should check with your DR - I think they recommend 3 months off before trying. Plus you want to start taking pre-natals.

there is really no way of knowing how long it will take to get pregnant. I know women who didn't even really 'try' and got pregnant right away and I know women who have tried for years and are still not pregnant. It is not something you can really time very easily. good luck baby dust~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I was off the pill for almost 2 years. We weren't officially trying, instead, we were living and trusting that we will be blessed when the time is right.

My doctor told me to try and wait 2 months after the pill.

I would suggest you wait to go off the pill until after your wedding. First of all you can make sure that AF doesn't come on your wedding day. And secondly, my DH and I thought it would take at least a few months to get pregnant after I went off the pill...well guess what, two WEEKS later I was prego! Now this is definatly not the norm but to be on the safe side I would suggest waiting and talking to your doctor.

As everyone said you can't 'predict' how long it will take-- however some dr's say that you should wait but others dont--My dr told met that the 'wait 3 months rule' was from when the pill had higher doses of hormones so there is no need for it to ' be out of your system' but many of them want you to wait so that you regulate your cylce, know when you O etc-- since that helps to know if it takes you quite a few cycles---
