How long did it take you to look to finally find 'your' house?

Whether it's your 'starter' home, or your 'dream' home...

Just curious on what to expect--I know everyone is different--

Started looking in February 04. Offer was accepted and went to contract in October 04 and closed in January 05...so 11 months total. It was a long road. But we had time and didn't have to rush. We found the perfect place for us to live.

started looking around jan 25th - found a place feb 11th bid feb 12th and offer accepted- closing march 31st.

however lst year i was heavy on buying myself a condo and i searched for 6 months with no luck.

so, it can go either way. my best advice - if interested- is to speak to mortgage broker, get a pre-approval and find out exactly what you can afford. if you know how much money you have to work with, it makes things easy so you are either not looking at palces too high or not trying to find perfection in places too low.
