We are waiting for our mortgage committment letter now for over two weeks and it is the ONLY thing that is holding up us handing in our board application.
How long did everyone else take to get the mortgage

No more than 2 weeks for us.. but my FH was our mortgage banker

Ours took like a week. WE closed in 30 days

FOREVER! We had to keep sending the bank papers of everything (most recent 401k, where we got large sums of money from, etc.) it was the most painful process of the home buying experience. Since that I have told FH we are never moving again.

thanks makes me feel a little better- we started the process on August 5th! it took 3 weeks for them to set up the appraisal & then 2 weeks from that to send in the application- so ridiculous
and once we get that, its not even the end, we have to do the board interview, takes 4 weeks to get an appointment
then the papers have to be filed with the county anywhere from 2-4 weeks AND THEN WE CAN SCHEDULUE closing! I am dying here!
