how long do alterations usually take?

My first alteration appt. is about a month and a half before the wedding. the dress needs to be taken in and bustled, and I want to have a veil made. Is a month and half enough time to get all of this done?

Yes, that's enough time. The problem usually arrises when you have to make an appointment for another fitting and you have to see if they have an appointment available on the day(s) you can go. But yes, they say 4-8 weeks for alterations.
